Standards Institute on Curriculum, Teaching and Education Abroad
Over one hundred colleagues convened at last week’s Standards of Good Practice Institute
on “Curriculum, Teaching and Education Abroad,” hosted by the University of Minnesota’s Learning Abroad Center. This Institute, dedicated to identifying and understanding an array of approaches to curriculum design and teaching in education abroad, provided over a dozen new and provocative sessions. In addition, the
first Award for Excellence in Education Abroad Curriculum Design was presented to Alice Layton of Lesley University’s Guyana Lesley Abroad Service Semester. Presenters’ slides will be available on the Forum website in the coming weeks. The Forum thanks co-chairs Martin Hogan and Christine Anderson and the Institute Planning Committee for their efforts to insure the high quality of the presentations that were given. The Forum also wishes to express its thanks to the University of Minnesota for hosting this event.
