Recent U.S. government statements and policy decisions are making it more challenging for U.S. students abroad, and impacting some students’ decisions about whether or not to participate in education abroad. This town hall session offers an open discussion about how education abroad students are being impacted, and will solicit from participants strategies that might help students to meet the challenges of being abroad at this time.
Attend this session on Thursday, March 30 at 10:45 a.m.

Lead with Languages

The Forum is proud to support Lead with Languages, a national campaign to promote foreign language, spearheaded by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL). The campaign, launched earlier this week, coincides with the release of America’s Languages: Investing in Language Education in the 21st Century, a report by the American Academy of Arts & Sciences’ Commission on Language Learning.
The Forum was an early endorser of the ACTFL campaign, and a signatory of the Call to Action.

Resources for Your Week:
Assessing Student Outcomes in Your Programs

As this week’s Quick Poll demonstrates, a lot of us feel like we still have something to learn about outcomes assessment. Don’t fret! The Forum’s Outcomes Assessment Toolbox, developed and updated by the Outcomes Assessment and Research Committee, features a variety of resources to brush up on your assessment skills or seek out new ideas for your program’s assessment plan. The Toolbox is updated regularly throughout the year to include new literature and examples as they become available.
New this week: Dr. Leland L’Hote of IES Abroad shares how his organization developed a language assessment plan.
