Another eventful couple of weeks and in glorious sunshine too with many new members joining us - welcome to you all!
Firstly well done to RACC with their new build now opened by the Duke of Edinburgh last week - your team did a fabulous job for both RACC and Richmond upon Thames as a whole- very well done!
Since our last newsletter, we had truly inspirational speaker Stefan Kadlubowski at our Chamber Breakfast hosted by the Richmond Gate Hotel on Richmond Hill a couple of weeks ago. The breakfast was delicious and the service impeccable - thank you to the Gate team. Also Stefan was amazing and all agreed we should reschedule him for an in-depth master class, which will be bookable at our website for early July; happily he has agreed to facilitate this - thank you Stefan.
Local businesses gathered too for a Chamber Art Pop Up Coffee Morning at 1-3 Richmond Rd in Central Twickenham hosted by the Orleans Gallery team, our very own cultural hub for the borough of Richmond upon Thames. The local art displayed here is available for purchase and is on display for another couple of weeks; so do visit and see if there are any pictures, drawings or sculptures you simply have to buy! You will be given a very warm welcome and our local artists will be over the moon.
Beauty was also on our business calendar this month with Kiss n Makeup in Church St hosting our Glamour evening and The Crown pub St Margaret’s providing delicious hot canapés which the ladies enjoyed with sparkling wine. The experienced Kiss n Makeup team demonstrated the glamour look on each of our business ladies and our photographer Vicki Sharp captured these in portraits which the ladies could then purchase.
Yesterday we enjoyed a Chamber Coffee Morning in the glorious Teddington sunshine in a beautiful Italian setting at Award winning restaurant Shambles hosted by the lovely Margarita and the Shambles team. She and Massimo welcome businesses daily to their restaurant and they showcased their beautiful garden areas for lunches or dinners; do pop in a take a look.
Data Science was the theme yesterday afternoon and UK leading expert Andreas Voniatis demonstrated why we should be testing each and every page of our website to ascertain their effectiveness in respect to ROI and so return on investment. The delegates agreed that the session was excellent and they loved their one-on-one insights regarding their own websites and social media strategies. As Best Business World Stores co founder demonstrated how doing the data science can be what separates you from your competitors, so take a look at this approach and watch out for our next session too, which Andreas has agreed facilitate.
We have also trained more mentors so please let us know if you would like a mentor or indeed if you wish to be one as this initiative is extremely popular with our members.
A very important notice - we have a Chamber Business Forum on Europe event with our Twickenham MP Dr Tania Mathias and Steve Baker MP Co Chair of Committee Conservatives for Britain on Friday 3rd July 6pm to 7pm
at the Richmond College in Twickenham - the aim of this discussion is to inform our MP of your views on Europe. If you are unable to make this discussion please email me your views on Europe at firstname.lastname@example.org
with the subject Europe.
I know we will see many of you at Strawberry Hill Golf Club next week - remember you can also book a free round of golf subsequent to the Chamber Breakfast - I am told the course is beautiful so a rare opportunity for you all.
Have a great week and see you all soon.
