Colorado Child Care Assistance Program
Attendance Tracking System (ATS) Update
Information for Providers
We’re live! ATS launched over the weekend, and you should be using the new system.

The ATS Help Desk continues to receive a high volume of phone calls and emails, and we appreciate your patience as we do our best to support you.

We have identified some common issues and provided steps you can take to ensure you and your families can login and use the system successfully:
  • We sent new parent/caregiver PIN emails today. The links in the email expire in 24 hours, so please help remind your parents/caregivers to check their email and to set up their PIN today.
  • As a provider, you can check in/out children. Parents/caregivers are able to confirm this information after they set up their PIN.
  • We have identified two issues that we are working on correcting:
    • When parents/caregivers try to confirm a check in/out, they are taken to the check in/out screen instead of the confirm/deny screen. To help parents navigate to the confirm/deny screen, please make sure they are clicking on the exclamation point (!), not the time.
    • Delegates are receiving an error about invalid pins. To avoid this error, we request providers check in/out the child. The parent will then need to confirm/deny the check in/out.
  • If you have not received the welcome e-mail, please check your spam folder and/or confirm with county that your e-mail address is entered correctly. If you still do not receive the e-mail, please send your correct e-mail address, provider ID (license #), and first and last name to cdhs_ats_helpdesk@state.co.us.
  • Reminder! You should not use your POS device to sign children in/out or to complete backswipes.
Frequently Asked Questions: ATS Set-up and Log-in

I reset my password and never received the e-mail to reset it. What do I do?

If you are also enrolled with the Colorado Shines QRIS system, this may be the reason why you haven’t received the e-mail. The system requires a unique username per person and ATS and QRIS are a part of the same system. To solve this issue, you will want to follow the below steps:
  1. Log in at https://www.coloradoshines.com/cochildcare/ats_login using your QRIS user name but add “.ats” at the end.  For example, if your QRIS user name is provider@email.com then the ATS username would be provider@email.com.ats
  2. Enter the password (the password will remain the same as what was originally set up)
  3. If the password doesn’t work, then click the forgot password link and again. Make sure to enter the username with .ats at the end
I haven’t received my welcome e-mail yet. What do I do?
Send an email to the ATS Help Desk (cdhs_ats_helpdesk@state.co.us) with your name, provider number and correct e-mail address and the subject line “Provider hasn’t received welcome email”

When I log into ATS, I only see a green screen. What do I do?
When this happens, check to make sure you are using Google Chrome. The system works best on Chrome, so we recommend if you don’t have Chrome, that you download it here.

If you are using Chrome, and are still seeing a green screen, you may need to clear their cache. To clear their cache, you will need to complete the following steps:
  1. Open Chrome
  2. At the top right, click More (the three dots in the top right corner of your browser)
  3. Click More tools >  Clear browsing data
  4. At the top, choose a time range, select All time.
  5. Next to  “Cookies and other site data” and  “Cached images and files,” check the boxes
  6. Click Clear data.
  7. Close your browser completely and re-open before attempting to login.
What if the parents don’t have a PIN when they drop off their child ?
If a parent doesn’t have a PIN when they drop off their child, they can set one up by selecting “Forgot PIN” on the kiosk. The parent will receive an email at the email address they have on file with the county, and it will allow them to create a PIN. Children can still be checked into care by the provider if the family does not have a PIN. Parents can verify check in at a later date if they are unable to set up their PIN.

How do parents login to ATS?
The provider should switch ATS into kiosk mode. This mode allows parents to check kids in and out as well as confirm prior check in and check outs.  First check that you are in kiosk mode. The screen should say “Welcome <<Provider Name>>” at the top and then show two boxes with Xs where the parent should enter their pin.
  1. If the provider name is not listed at the top of the screen you will have to first login
  2. Once logged in, click the three lines in the upper left
  3. Click the kiosk button to switch it to kiosk mode
  4. Have the parent enter their PIN.  If the parent doesn’t know their PIN they can click the Forgot Pin? Or if they are not registered they should click the “Not registered” link
When I click the link to access ATS, it is taking me to QRIS or Colorado Shines instead.
Two welcome emails were sent. First, make sure you are taking the link from the email with the subject “Welcome to CDHS Attendance Tracking”. If you are not using Google Chrome to open your email, you will need to copy and paste the link (https://www.coloradoshines.com/cochildcare/ats_login) into Chrome:
  1. Right click on the link in your email. You should see a box pop up with multiple options.
  2. Select “Copy” or “Copy Hyperlink”
  3. Open Google Chrome and in the top bar where you enter a website right click
  4. Select “Paste” then click Enter
If you complete these steps, and you are still being taken to Colorado Shines or QRIS when clicking the link, try clearing your cache:
  1. Open Chrome
  7. Make sure when you login for ATS you login at this URL: https://www.coloradoshines.com/cochildcare/ats_login
After logging in and then switching to Kiosk mode, I can’t log back in.
After switching to Kiosk mode, to log back in by clicking the “Log In as Provider” link at the bottom of the screen.  You will be taken to a new page and prompted to enter your user name and password.  Your username is the email where you received the ATS welcome email, unless you are also part of the QRIS program.

If you are also enrolled with the QRIS system, your username will be your QRIS username with .ats at the end, For example, if your QRIS user name is provider@email.com then the ATS username would be provider@email.com.ats The system only allows one username per license and ATS and QRIS are a part of the same license.

After entering your username enter the same password you entered initially.  If this doesn’t work please double check that the password is correct.

If you still are not able to login try clearing cache (see above).  And if that doesn’t resolve it click the Forgot Password link and follow the steps to reset your password.

When I follow the link to set my password, I’m taken to the login page but I haven’t set my password yet.
Providers who are also set their password in Colorado Shines QRIS will be taken to the login page instead of the ATS page to set your password.  If this happens to you, click the Forgot Password link and follow the steps to Change your Password.  Although you are not really changing your password, because you have not set it yet, this will take you through the necessary steps to create a new password.

After completing the process above, I received an e-mail but it just takes me back to the login page. I still don’t have anywhere to reset my password.
Make sure that you copy and pasted the link from the password reset email, and not your original welcome email, into Chrome.  If you are sure you copy and pasted the correct link then try clearing your cache
  1. Open Chrome
  7. Close and reopen Chrome
  8. ow try pasting the reset password link again
Our parents/guardians haven't received an e-mail to set up their PIN. What do we do?
If a parent doesn’t have a PIN when they drop off their child, they can set one up by selecting “Forgot PIN” on the kiosk. The parent will receive an email at the email address they have on file with the county, and it will allow them to create a PIN. Children can still be checked into care by the provider if the family does not have a PIN. Parents can verify check in at a later date if they are unable to set up their PIN.

If parents have not received their PIN, instruct them to please ask them to send their name, CCCAP case number, and e-mail address to the ATS Help Desk (cdhs_ats_helpdesk@state.co.us) with the subject line, “Parent hasn’t received PIN.”
