San Luis Obispo had a great 1st quarter with 9.2% increase in median home price, from $540,000 in the 1st quarter of 2017 to $589,500 this year. There were 36 fewer single family homes sold, a 5.3% decrease from the number of homes sold in the 1st quarter of 2017, but 1,029 homes have already been listed since January. There is currently 4 months of inventory on the market, this time last year there was 5 months of inventory.
The California Association of Realtors created this infographic review with data from 2017 homes sales across the state. Inventory isn't just low in San Luis Obispo County, there is a lack of homes for sale throughout California. Many homes are receiving multiple offers and selling for above asking price.
