The graphic below from the California Association of Realtors looks at the median price that homeowners receive when selling their home themselves and the average price they receive when utilizing the services of a local Realtor. Working with a Realtor allows you to market your home to the largest pool of buyers. Homes listed on the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) automatically get exposure on national websites like Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com. This amount of exposure makes it more likely that you will find a buyer willing to pay your asking price, or close to it. In addition to more home buyers seeing your home, my connections with local professional photographers, relationships with other local Realtors, and negotiation experience will all contribute to you receiving top dollar for your home.
