Sharing a message today from the National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health.
Happy National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day!
What a week! We’ve celebrated coast to coast and lit up Times Square!
Thank you all for your incredible efforts in support of Children's Mental Health Awareness (CMHA) Week. To date, 47,800 green ribbons were purchased across the country and 111 events were submitted for the National CMHA map. And, those are just the ones we know about!
It is Children's Mental Health Awareness Day and we hope you are wearing and seeing green in your communities today. As we join you all in celebrating, we also wanted to highlight why
today means so very much to us.
  • Today we celebrate the importance of children's mental health. It is equally important as their physical health.
  • Today we applaud the unwavering efforts, small and large, that take place year round to raise awareness, to educate and to reduce prejudice and discrimination that prevent children, youth and families from receiving services and supports they need.
  • Today we honor the value and gifts of all children. We all have strengths, unique minds and wonderful things to contribute to our families and our communities.
  • Today we commend the parents, caregivers, family members and others who nurture and support children with mental health needs. You are heroes not only to us, but to your children as well.
