Psychiatrist Position Available at NY Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
On behalf of the New York State Office of Mental Health, we are sharing a posting for a new psychiatrist position at Kings County Hospital in New York.

Kings County Hospital, a member of the New York City Health + Hospitals Corporation, is opening a 12-bed inpatient psychiatric unit in collaboration with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the NYSTART initiative.
Set to open in the Spring of 2019, the unit will be geared towards servicing adults with dually diagnosed behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities. The goal of this unit is to greatly enhance the quality of specialized care to this population. The unit will also work in close collaboration with NY START teams.
The unit will have an enhanced staffing pattern to accommodate the patient to clinician ratio, provide extensive training for all unit staff, as well as a reimbursement structure that would allow for a longer than usual stay for an inpatient psychiatric unit.
The ideal candidate will have experience with a dually diagnosed population and interest in cross-systems collaboration. Learn more about this role in the job posting on the NY Health & Hospitals careers portal or reach out to Dr. Josh Brezerin, NY OHM Director of Clinical Services by email at
