Nominations Due Today for 2017 START Awards
Recognizing the positive qualities in others
is a strength-based practice
Nominations for the 2017 START Awards are due today, March 15th, 2017. Please take a few minutes out of your day to nominate team members and partners that demonstrate excellence and innovation. Each START team is expected to submit award nominations.

We thank you in advance for your thoughtful nominations and look forward to honoring our award recipients at the 2017 START National Training Institute Awards Dinner on Monday, May 1, 2017.

START Award Descriptions

The START Team Member Awards recognize START professionals who demonstrate a thorough understanding of the START model and have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life for people supported through START. These recipients exemplify the START philosophy of positive engagement with individuals, families, and the service system. > Click here to submit a nomination

Three awards will be presented to START program members from the following teams:

  • Clinical Team
  • Resource Center/In-Home Supports Teams
  • Clinical/Medical Leadership
START Network Partner Awards recognize two network partners for their significant contribution, in collaboration with a START team, to improving the system of support for adults and children with IDD and behavioral health challenges. The recipients (individuals or organizations) embody the core START concept of enhancing the capacity of the system. Two awards will be presented: one for a children's services and one for adult services. > Click here to submit a nomination

Case Management/Service Coordination Award recognizes a case manager or service coordinator who has worked closely and positively with a START team to improve the system of support for individuals with IDD and behavioral health challenges. The recipient recognizes the importance of collaborative, systemic work between START teams, and case management/service coordination in the system. > Click here to submit a nomination
