National Leaders in the Mental Health Aspects
of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
START National Online Training Series on Mental Health and IDD
2019-2020 Schedule Announcement

The 2019-2020 START National Online Training Series kicks off on Friday September 20th with a presentation entitled Bereavement & Grief in Individuals with IDD by Katy Stratigos, MD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Columbia University Department of Psychiatry, and Medical Director of the NYSTART Region 4 Triborough team.
 
This presentation explores how the experience of loss and bereavement impacts an individual’s psychiatric presentation and changes in behavior. Dr. Stratigos outlines strategies to help individuals work through their loss which may ultimately help in decreasing crises relating to loss and improving quality of life.
