President's Message
This past weekend, I had the pleasure to represent Ohio ACEP at the EMRA Mid-West Regional Medical Student Symposium. Nearly 80 students were registered for the symposium which included a panel discussion on how to succeed in their quest to become Emergency Medicine residents. Nine residencies from Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky participated in the Residency Fair for students. Students were able to practice airway and ultrasound skills in procedure labs.
It was however, the final event with the medical students, the viewing of the Emmy Award-winning EMRA documentary, 24|7|365, which left the most meaningful impression on me. [Read more]

On June 15, Mt. Carmel St. Ann's, in conjunction with Ohio ACEP and OSU EM Residency, hosted a conference where the newly released book, Bouncebacks! Pediatrics, was presented.

Ohio State Residency-Trained EM Physician Becomes AMA President
Dr. Steven Stack is the first emergency physician to hold the office and is the AMA’s youngest president in 160 years
Steven J. Stack, MD, FACEP, was inaugurated yesterday as President of the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Stack is the first board-certified emergency physician to hold the position, demonstrating just how far the relatively new medical specialty has progressed in its short history. At the age of 43, he is also the AMA’s youngest president in 160 years. [Read more]
