President's Message

I am writing this with an ear-to-ear smile for a reason that most of you will already know by the time you read this. Dr. Steve Stack, a graduate of both the Ohio State University School of Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency, was just elected to serve as the President of the American Medical Association. What a fantastic honor for Steve, and what a wonderful tribute to Emergency Medicine. But most importantly, what a powerful and enlightened step forward for the House of Medicine. [Read more]

Leadership & Advocacy Conference

Emergency physicians from around the country descended on Washington, DC, May 18 - 21, for ACEP’s Leadership & Advocacy Conference. Among the many Ohio ACEPers to make the journey were our Leadership Development Academy (LDA) members. Here’s what a couple Academy members had to say about their experience at the acclaimed annual conference!
The LAC in DC was the culmination of the LDA, and definitely was a way to go out with a bang. We had the privilege to meet many people from both ACEP and Congress. I learned a lot about the process of getting bills passed and how important it is to have people advocating for Emergency Medicine in the government to help our patients and our specialty as a whole. A great experience all around.
– Andrea Kreiger, MD
It was an incredible experience. Great opportunity to network with the leaders in EM, hear about the latest regulatory changes and lobby Congress about the issues facing Emergency patients and their physicians.”
– Baruch S. Fertel, MD MPA
