President's Message
Happy New Year! We're two weeks into 2016 but I figured it was okay to say it one last time.
Since it's the time of year when many of us think about ways to better ourselves, here are a few ideas for New Year’s resolutions to ponder while you lose weight, stop drinking, stop smoking, and/or eat better so you can be ripped and/or shredded for summer:
ACEP’s first EM Wellness Week, January 24-30. I think we all roll our eyes whenever we hear about "wellness;" goodness knows my residents do. But the fact is no other specialty deals with the social disasters and time away from family while being constantly sleep deprived like we do. [Read more]

We are accepting nominations for the Bill Hall Award for Service, the EM Physician of the Year, Ohio ACEP Advocacy Award, Education Award, and Leadership Award, and—new this year—the Outstanding Emergency Medicine Resident of the Year Award.
Awards will be presented during the 2016 Annual Meeting at the Ohio Emergency Medicine Leadership Forum, April 19!

ACEP is accepting nominations for the 2016 ACEP Awards Program, which honors members who distinguish themselves through leadership and excellence in emergency medicine. All members are eligible to submit nominations in one or more award categories. Deadline for making a nomination is March 1.

Nominations are being accepted for the Blue Jay Consulting/Emergency Medicine Foundation Emergency Department Director of the Year Award.
