EM Residency Spotlight: Grandview Medical Center
The Grandview Emergency Medicine Residency, based in Dayton, strives to produce outstanding, compassionate physicians who are well-rounded in clinical practice, academic achievements, and service to their community. The residents’ clinical skills benefit from their active involvement in an emergency department that sees a large and diverse patient population. Under the leadership of Program Director, Dr. Michael Pallaci, Grandview EM Residency fosters the academic and clinical development of residents through mentoring by EM faculty.

Important Update: Tramadol Now a Schedule IV Controlled Substance
Pursuant to a rule adopted by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), tramadol and products containing tramadol are now classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance. The new classification went into effect on August 18, 2014. [Read more]

Board of Pharmacy Announces New OARRS Tool
The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy has announced a new feature designed to enhance patient care from the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS). The new feature, the Active Cumulative Morphine Equivalent (ACME) graph, will allow health care providers to view a patient’s ACME score for up to 24 months. For more information about the tool, including an example of how the graph works as part of a patient’s prescription history report, check out the Board of Pharmacy’s announcement to Ohio health care providers.
