Opioid Prescribing Video Offers Free CME
On Monday, October 7, Gov. John Kasich announced the adoption of new opioid prescribing guidelines (separate from the EM physician-focused prescribing guidelines released in 2012) for the treatment of chronic pain.
The Ohio Department of Health has launched a website to give clinicians resources on implementing the new recommendations, including a free, CME-eligible one-hour video module.
Leadership Development Academy Member Spotlight - Dr. Baruch Fertel
On September 11, 2001, Dr. Baruch Fertel was an EMS responder to the World Trade Center. Understandably, the events of that day changed his perspective on many aspects of his life. Among these changes, his experience led him to rethink his intended career in nonprofit/healthcare administration in favor of returning to school to pursue a career in emergency medicine. [Read more]
