President's Message—What Would You Change About Your Practice?
As I wrote last month, the end of October is my favorite ACEP event of the year: ACEP Council. For two days, councillors from all state chapters and sections gather to debate resolutions that will shape and guide College policy for the coming years. Council Elects New College Leaders
The ACEP Council selected two new ACEP Board members at its meeting on Sunday, October 25: Dr. Christopher Kang from Washington and Dr. Mark Rosenberg from New Jersey, and re-elected incumbent Board members Dr. Vidor Friedman from Florida and Dr. Bill Jaquis from Maryland. Also, Dr. Jim Cusick from Colorado was named Council Speaker and Dr. John McManus from Georgia was elected as Council Vice Speaker.
ACEP Elects New Officers
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) announced the election of new officers to its Board of Directors during ACEP15 in Boston, the largest annual gathering of emergency physicians in the country. [Read more]
ACEP Recognizes Excellence in Emergency Medicine—Ohio Member Among Recipients
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) recognized thirteen individuals for outstanding contributions to emergency medicine during the organization’s annual meeting in Boston last month, ACEP15. The awards honor excellence across a wide range of activities, including leadership, policy, education, and research. [Read more]
Dr. Jay Kaplan Assumes ACEP Presidency
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) announced that Jay Kaplan, MD, FACEP, from San Anselmo, California, assumed the presidency during the organization’s annual meeting in Boston. He was elected by ACEP’s Council to serve a 1-year term. Dr. Kaplan has been serving as the group’s president-elect for the past year. [Read more]
Illinois Emergency Physician Rebecca Parker Chosen as 2015-16 ACEP President-Elect
Rebecca Parker, MD, FACEP, the Chair of ACEP’s Board of Directors from Park Ridge, Illinois, was named President-Elect by the ACEP Council during its meeting Sunday, October 25 in Boston. Dr. Parker is an attending emergency physician with Vista Health in Waukegan, Illinois. She is Senior Vice President of Envision Healthcare and President of Team Parker LLC, a consulting group. Dr. Parker is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Texas Tech El Paso Department of Emergency Medicine. [Read more]
