East Harriet Voting Update
Do not mail your Minnesota Absentee Ballot
Due to an 8th Circuit Court ruling this week, if you have not done so already, do not mail your absentee ballot. If it does not arrive by 8pm on election day, it may not be counted.
To be sure your vote is counted, you have three options:
- If you already have an absentee ballot to return, you may drop off your completed ballot by 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd at an authorized drop-off center. Drop-off center hours have been extended due to the court ruling. You can also drop off ballots for up to three other people.
- You may vote early in-person. Find early voting centers here.
- You may vote in-person at your local polling place on Election Day from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Be sure to check your polling location as East Harriet's polling locations have changed.
If you already mailed your ballot, track its progress here: https://mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us/AbsenteeBallotStatus.aspx. Absentee ballots that have already been accepted are fine. After election day, you can use this link to verify that it was counted.
If your absentee ballot is not received by the night of Monday, November 2nd, you are encouraged to go to your local polling place and cast your vote in person on November 3rd. This is legal. When you get to your polling place, they will check if it has been counted. If it has not been counted, you will be given a new ballot. Your mail ballot will be canceled and will not count (even if they receive it later).
