Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for Coming to the 10th Anniversary Celebration of VSSA!
We had such a wonderful time and appreciate each of you that spent the afternoon celebrating with us. Special thanks to all our community volunteers and to the Student Council and senior class for pitching in to make it a great day!
Reminders for Service day which is September 23rd:
IF your child is not planning on attending school that day please let Ms. Whitney know so that she can plan groups accordingly. We don't want to leave one of our work sites short staffed.
Students please pack a lunch and bring work gloves. Students on the SSCV meal plan will be prepared a pack lunch by Chef. If you have a punch card and would like a bag lunch, please let Ms. Whitney know by September 18th or plan on bringing one.
YES! We still need Volunteers for Service Day!
We are in need of 12 parent volunteers to join our service day on Sept 23rd. It would entail joining a group of 14 students and a staff member to help with a community project. Groups will leave school at 9am and return by 3pm. Please email Charlene.email@example.com if you are able to help out.

We now have a health assistant on staff at VSSA!!
Feel free to address me as Jen. You may have noticed my mini assistant, Ace Schrader, hanging out on my hip flashing his cheeseball smile, We thank you for welcoming us; this campus is filled with incredible, vibrant human beings and I am beyond grateful to be a part of the family.
To keep it simple with tidbits I was a Michigander age birth to 20, I've been an English teacher in CO the past 15 years, bore two kiddos (Axel and Adam), got a witty hubby Ben, love me some yoga & quick heart pumping hikes and am no stranger to service work as the VP of Children's Global Alliance. Oh yes, and my passion for baking... who likes cupcakes?
My focus for the year is threefold:
1) to be a helpful, solid Health Assistant
2.) sub on demand
3.) initiate and monitor Rtl and 504 plans, keeping stakeholder communication and collaborations non-negotiables.
If your child is feeling sick, they need to be assessed in the health office before getting picked up from school.
School district policy is that students need to be kept out of school 24 hours after they last experienced a fever or vomiting.

Andi Malboeuf here, your new courageous volunteer for PTA communication. I went to high school at Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont. At Burke, PTA was an acronym for Pain, Torture and Agony. This was a fall early morning workout, before the morning workout, for those who didn't keep their summer fitness up to snuff. I am thankful that as an adult, PTA has a new meaning. We are just a group of engaged parents out to help our kids with hopefully very little pain, torture and agony.
Here is the latest:
*A big thanks to everyone for attending 10th Anniversary, it was a great event!
*Additional Yeti-wear is available for purchase in front office. Stay tuned for launch of on-line purchasing option in near future.
*Teacher Conference Dinners are Oct 25-26th. Potluck dinner items for teachers while they stay at school into the evening. Tammy Negomir is co-ordinating things for this year. Please contact her if interested in helping. firstname.lastname@example.org
*Minturn Halloween. For first year ever, VSSA will have a tent and participate in Minturn Halloween onSunday, Oct 30th. THIS IS FUN AND WE NEED HELP! Wanna be Lloyd the Yeti? Donate candy & hot chocolate? Pass out VSSA stickers, etc. Please contact Ashleigh Gore at email@example.com.
We would like to give a huge thank you to the following volunteers:
Craig Roberts - Grounds and Gardens
Shari Grant & Jamie Allard - VSSA Bulletin Boards and Display Cases
Kara Palamaras - VSSA Directory
Ashleigh Gore - Minturn Halloween Co-ordination
PTA is for the kids and we can't do these things without the help of people like you! It would be Pain, Torture and Agony.
Thanks for reading and please don’t hesitate to email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Note: my email address was incorrect in last weeks Yeti times so please update.)
