Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy (VSSA) provides a rigorous college preparatory academic program while supporting the athletic and personal goals of our students. In partnership with Ski & Snowboard Club Vail and the Eagle County School District, VSSA facilitates the attainment of our students’ dreams by offering challenging academics, flexible scheduling, and individualized attention.
Every student-athlete and parent/guardian must review the VSSA Handbook each year and the last page signed acknowledging VSSA's policies and procedures. The handbook will also be reviewed in Advisory with students on August 24th and due to the student-athlete's advisory teacher on August 31st. The signed form will then be kept in the main office. Click here for the handbook and please print the last page to sign and turn in.
Reminder to sign up for the Training Table lunch program at VSSA under your SSCV member service's page. Any questions regarding payment and prices can go to Betsy Cuthbertson at SSCV or to Chef Lauren with food questions.
The menu will be posted in the VSSA Google Calendar.
Thank you to the parents who have already reached out to me to volunteer for PTA! I will be responding back to the volunteers asap. We are still in need of a technical computer person to help with the PTA facebook page, website, etc. and other volunteer positions. Please contact me if interested (link below).
The VSSA PTA does not do any fundraising during the year, so it is very important to pay your PTA dues. Our dues help the academy provide enrichment activities for students, teacher training, school & staff needs and more. You can drop a check off at VSSA. If you do not know if you paid your dues, please contact Susan Okurowski, our treasurer.
Our first PTA meeting will be on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 4-6pm. We will need to vote on a new Vice President and the other PTA officers for the 2015-2016 school year. I hope many of you will attend and possibly we can arrange a potluck dinner afterwards.
Parent involvement is so important to VSSA and your child’s education. As I said last week, “Many hands make light work” which is defined as: Large tasks become small when divided among several people. Thanks for your support!
Class Parents: Thank you to the parents who have stepped up to be class parents. We still need class parents for 11th &12th grades and a class parent leader. If you are interested in being a class parent, please let me know. This is a great way to get to know all the students & teachers in your grade!
