VSSA Academic Fund

Thank you to all the very generous families that contributed this year to the VSSA Academic Fund!!!
Our staff is inspired by the support you have put behind our kids and grateful to have more dynamic resources as we design the most engaging and relevant learning experience we can!  It is difficult to think of something more important than the education of our kids and your generosity during the 16-17 VSSA Academic Fund Drive is a reflection of that belief.  Thank you.

 Staffing Announcement

Dear VSSA Community,
It is with regret that I announce the departure of General Manager Mike Trueblood from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail. Mike has accepted a position with Vail Resorts as Senior Director of Finance for Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek Resort. He will be based in Vail, and his first day in that position will be Monday, Dec. 12.

Mike has worked tirelessly in his role of General Manager for more than three years. As anyone who has worked with Mike will attest, there are few individuals whose impact has been so strongly felt among the various SSCV departments. From managing the administrative team, to lending a hand with operational necessities, and even helping pull gates from time to time, there’s no job Mike wasn’t willing to do. His contributions will be missed, but we are supportive and happy for Mike and his family as he embarks on this new endeavor.

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail will be seeking to fill the General Manager position in 2017. In the interim, I will be assuming many of Mike’s responsibilities, while financial operations will be handled under direct supervision of CFO & Business Manager Tiffany Hoversten.

Please join me in thanking Mike and wishing him all the best in his new role with Vail Resorts. We look forward to seeing Mike around town and on the hill.

Sincerely,
Kirk Dwyer
Executive Director, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail

Fees at VSSA
There is a required Eagle County School District fee of $550 for every ECS student. For VSSA students, this fee goes towards the following: transportation, books, the wilderness trip, social events/dances, classroom supplies, lab renewables, spring trips, and printing/copying. The breakdown of this fee varies depending on the grade of the student, however this is a district-required fee. The fees are bundled and can be paid in full or a payment plan may be arranged with the Office Manager. We are proud to have held fees at $550 for the last nine years. You will be glad to know that VSSA has no other fees assessed throughout the year.

Attendance:

Excused absences include athletic competitions and training, college visits, illness and family emergencies. SSCV coaches are responsible for communicating with VSSA on all excused absences for competitions and training. Parents do not need to contact the school in regards to these absences.
