8th to 9th Grade SSCV Full-Time Athlete Reapplication Process The SSCV 8th to 9th Grade Reapplication process is required for all current 8th grade full-time athletes, regardless of where they attend school. It provides a great opportunity for these athletes to reflect on their upcoming high school years and their next level of commitment to academics and their snow sport.

Acceptance as a full-time athlete through the 8th to9th grade reapplication process is required for a current 8th grader, regardless of where they attend school, to be eligible for re-enrollment as an SSCV full-time athlete for the 2016-2017 season.
The winter holiday season is a time for cheer, being thankful, spreading kindness, and spending time with loved ones. It can also be a time of self-reflection, loneliness, stress and anxiety. Stress around the holidays can come from unrealistic expectations, financial pressures and too many commitments. Certain people may feel depressed as a result of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) also referred to as seasonal depression.
Around the holidays there is often an increase in headaches, substance abuse, overeating and insomnia and this can be a result of poorly managed stress. Stress can manifest itself in a variety of emotional, behavioral and physical symptoms. It is important to focus on self-care and to reach out to social supports. Some people find counseling or support groups to be beneficial. These tips may also help:
Set realistic goals, share tasks with family and friends, and pace yourself.
Do not take on more responsibilities than you can handle. Make a list and prioritize important activities so that holiday tasks are more manageable.
Find new and inexpensive ways to enjoy the holidays such as looking at holiday decorations, or building a snow family.
Find ways to help others in need. Reach out to a long lost friend or relative.
Keep track of holiday spending. Extra bills with little budget can lead to further stress and depression.
Monitor alcohol consumption. If you chose to drink do so in a responsible, safe and sensible way.
Make time for yourself. Take time to exercise and sleep.
