VSSA 2017-18 School Calendar
On Wednesday VSSA received approval for an innovative school calendar, customized to the needs of our snow sports athletes.  This calendar is very similar to the one we had prior to 2011. In 2011, ECS asked VSSA to join a mandatory curriculum change that required we start and end with the rest of the schools in the county.

Ski Club has been our partner in designing this schedule to better meet the athletic and academic demands of our kids.  This calendar has been vetted by SSCV coaches, VSSA teachers, the ECS School Board and a group of 20 VSSA parents.  We are excited to share it with you now so you can begin to make plans for August.  It is still possible that the
February and April breaks will slide ahead or back by one week.  We will have that information to you as soon as ECS sets their breaks.  A cleaner version will be available on the left side of the Yeti Times starting around January.

Click here for the calendar.  Click here for a narration of the changes.

How to Pay for College? VSSA will be holding a Financial Aid 101 Presentation on November 30th from 3:54-4:50 in the art room.  Amanda Hildebrandt from College In Colorado will be our speaker.  Come hear about how to pay for college including information about the FAFSA, loans, grants and scholarships and get your questions answered.  Hope to see you there!

nterested in participating in a Service Project over Spring Break?
We are looking for interested students or families to help us plan the perfect trip.  The organization we would work with is Hope Sports and the project would take place in Rosarito Mexico (just outside San Diego).

The project would involve building a home for a family in need and it would take just
two days!  Not only does the build change a families life but it creates a sense of purpose and camaraderie that leads to successful working relationships. You will build an entire home for a family that makes $5/day and lives in extreme conditions. (No building experience necessary).

Most groups come for four days but we can add a day on the beach for surfing if we want. This would be a great thing for entire families to participate in. See attached for an example of what our trip could look like.  If you are interested please click here for more details and contact
