Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy (VSSA) provides a rigorous college preparatory academic program while supporting the athletic and personal goals of our students. In partnership with Ski & Snowboard Club Vail and the Eagle County School District, VSSA facilitates the attainment of our students’ dreams by offering challenging academics, flexible scheduling, and individualized attention.

Winter schedule begins Monday, November 2 with a full day school on Monday (Monday school days do not change throughout the whole year) from 9:20-3:50pm.

Lower school enrichment classes November 3rd through December 17th
The lower school will switch enrichment classes next week with the winter schedule change.
Fifth and sixth grades will have a STEM class taught by Sage Tutoring the outline for the class is as follows:
Week 1: Paper Circuits: Creating art with electricity
Week 2: Bristle Bots: An introduction to robotics using simple tools
Week 3: Engineering: Building the best "extending grabber" relay competition
Week 4-6: Engineering: Design and build a Ferris wheel
Last Day: Science of Sound: Students explore the wave properties of sound using fire
7th grade will have Art classes twice a week 8th grade will have one day of Leadership which will include Debate and one day of Art classes.

The following students have made it to the next spelling bee round at VSSA! All participants should be here at 9:20 am sharp on November 2nd.
Criteria: advancing students spelled at least seven out of ten words correctly in an oral vocabulary assessment. Any questions can be answered by Mrs. Parish.
November 4th: Parents are invited to Financial Literacy Presentation and How to Pay for College
All Juniors and Seniors will be participating in a financial literacy presentation on November 4th from 3:54-4:50 in the Art Room. Students will learn about options to pay for college and parents are encouraged to attend. The presenter will be Peter Kuk, Financial Aid Specialist from Colorado Mountain College. Hope to see you there! Drop off your Ballots at VSSA by Tuesday!
Election Day is coming soon on November 3rd. A PTA member has offered to pick up ballots at VSSA to save you the time of going to a drop off location.
VSSA is an Eagle County Public School and Eagle County School Board Seats are on the ballot – your vote will make a difference!
The Vail Valley ZGiRLS Circle had its’ inaugural Information Meeting - Thursday night after Dryland Training, and a good number of girls and parents attended.
As the Vail Valley ZGiRLS Circle gets started, our first ZGiRLS Huddle will be during November. For that reason, we have a registration deadline of Friday, November 13th. [For registration of girls age 11-16, go directly to ZGirls.org].

Taking a PG (post graduate) year After Graduation November 11th: Parents Invited to hear about the Pros and Cons of Taking a PG year After Graduation.
