Happy New Year to all of our VSSA families! We hope everyone had a wonderful break spending time with loved ones and doing fun stuff. There are a lot of exciting things coming up between now and the end of the school year and we would love as many of you involved as possible.
VSSA 10th Anniversary
Did you know that next year is the 10th anniversary of VSSA? We think this deserves a celebration and are looking for teachers, parents and students who are interested in joining our VSSA 10th Anniversary Planning Committee. This group will be integral in the planning and execution of all events associated with this momentous occasion! If interested in being a part of this team, please e-mail Stacey Birtwhistle.
Teacher of the Month
New for 2016 at VSSA is our "Teacher of the Month" initiative. We think our staff are the best and would like to recognize their hard work, dedication and commitment on a more regular basis. Beginning in February, students, colleagues and parents will be able to nominate a teacher who they think has gone above and beyond to make a difference. At the end of each month, our PTA will announce the winner and that teacher will receive a special gift. Stay tuned for more details on the voting process in next week's Yeti Times!
We would like to thank everyone who has gotten involved and helped out this past semester. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without you!
As always, please feel free to contact any of our PTA members with ideas, questions, or concerns.
Have a wonderful weekend,
On Monday, Dr. Joel Dekanich spoke at the All School Meeting about Hope Sports and the impact they can bring on both families in need and athletes.
What: Build a home for a poor family in two-days and change their lives forever. Not only does the build change a families life but it creates a sense of purpose and camaraderie that leads to successful working relationships on the playing field. You will
build an entire home for a family that that makes $5/day and lives in extreme conditions. Hope Sports helps athletes see the world beyond athletic success and encourages them to be people who make a difference in the world. (No building experience necessary).

Hello VSSA's wonderful parents,
There are still three spots open: please consider signing up to bring a treat and a small gift ($15 limit) to a VSSA teacher or staff member on their birthday (*summer birthdays will be celebrated on their half birthday). Please attach an appreciative card signed "From The VSSA PTA".
You will receive an email reminder 4 days before the birthday.
