Featuring our Seniors
Here's Jack Coyne - Then & Now
|
|
Jack Coyne loves to ride! His passion is snowboarding. Attending VSSA since the 5th grade has allowed him to grow both athletically and academically. His journey has led him to the US Snowboard Rookie Halfpipe Team. In addition to his passion for snow sports, he also likes to create videos, and has developed an Instagram following with his #jakekornvideo series. The next steps in his journey are still to be determined. As we say over and over… be safe, and make good choices!

Injured Athletes Group
Thursdays
11:30am-12:30pm
Next Up Thurs, Jan 9
Counseling Office @ VSSA
All students are invited to attend
|
|
|
A few things that make a group like this effective are when the students are committed to attending each week until their transition back to sport. We know that the injury recovery process can be very difficult and this group was created to provide support and information to both make the time off meaningful and to encourage a smooth and a stronger transition back. We also get to know each other and have fun. Hope to see you there!
If you would like your student to get more individual support, please complete the counseling referral form (see below). Thank you! - Charlene and Lauren

Next Parent Support Group
Weds, January 15 @VSSA from 4-5pm
|

Next Topic: How to foster a growth mindset in and out of sport.

Self Care Group with Lauren Ruhl
Lunch on Mondays - Upper School
Lunch on Thursdays - Lower School
|
|
The group is based on helping students understand their emotions, how they form, how they focus on their issues, and the impact emotions have on our behavior and performance. We will explore what they can do to help lower their stress and anxiety levels in school, at home, and in their sport.
We all have emotions and we cannot avoid particular emotions from rising up; however, we can control the way we act, behave, and perceive a situation. The goal is for students to feel they have more tools in their tool box and can see self-care as a very important part of their daily routine.
Open to all students!
