Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy (VSSA) provides a rigorous college preparatory academic program while supporting the athletic and personal goals of our students. In partnership with Ski & Snowboard Club Vail and the Eagle County School District, VSSA facilitates the attainment of our students’ dreams by offering challenging academics, flexible scheduling, and individualized attention.

VSSA Has School On Monday, March 23!
Other ECS Schools do not have school on Monday, but we do as our schedule has been a little different then the rest of the school district. 

2015 Graduation meeting next Wednesday, March 25th, 4 pm at VSSA
Anyone is welcome to come to see how graduation is coming along or interested to see how it works for up and coming years. This meeting will be to discuss this year's 2015 graduation. 


Reminder: AP exams will be ordered this Thursday, March 26th.  Please make sure your money has been turned in to Holly by Thursday morning or you will not be able to take this years AP exam.

Do not forget to check the lost and found at the stairs by room 101. The office will keep any items of significant worth such as electronics. Recently some items  were found that were obviously lost months ago. If you are missing an electronic device, please come to the office to prove what you are missing and we will be happy to get your possessions back to you.
Now's a great time to begin thinking about summer plans.  Can you fit in time to volunteer, participate in an internship, explore a new passion, visit colleges?  Maybe you want to participate in a summer pre-collegiate program on the college campus of your dreams.  Many applications for these programs open this month.  For an overview of some of these top programs click here

 
E•ƒ(ec) Evening of Stars May 16 | 2015

Evening of the Stars is an annual gala event recognizing Eagle County School District teachers, staff and volunteers for excellence in our public schools.

The event has acknowledged approximately 600 Eagle County Schools’ teachers since the event was first held in 1994. Awards include Outstanding Educator for each school, Rookie of the Year for elementary, middle, and high school grades, Friend of Education and NEW this year, a Stellar Support Staff Award. Nominations are open to parents, community members, teaching colleagues, and students. Please download forms below.

As well, Distinguished Teacher Scholarship are awarded at Evening of the Stars. The Distinguished Teacher Scholarship is designed to reward and promote excellence in teaching in Eagle County by providing funding to public school educators who wish to continue study in specific subject areas to obtain advanced degrees or certification. This scholarship fund was initially established in 2004 by the Vail Valley Foundation through a donation by an anonymous patron and expanded with and additional $20,000 in 2005. To date, 27 teachers have benefited from these scholarships to participate in Masters Degree programs, intensive summer language immersion programs, and more. Public K-12 teachers in Eagle County can apply with the requirement that they agree to remain in an Eagle County Schools teaching position for a minimum of three years following the completion of studies. For this years event, applications are due on Friday, March 27 by mail to: EFEC; PO Box 18533, Avon, CO 81620 of you can drop them off to the VSSA office!

Distinguished Teacher Award:

The Distinguished Teacher Award is a scholarship available to teachers in Eagle County Schools who wish to continue their education. Applications must be received via mail by Monday, March 16, 2015 to PO Box 18533; Avon, CO 81620.
