ATOD services end of year shutdown periods
This section outlines the end of year shutdown dates for ACT ATOD and related services. The information has been collated through the ACT ATOD Workers Group.
ATODA: The ATODA office will be closed from 25 December 2014 and will reopen 5 January 2015.
Alcohol and Drug Services, ACT Health:
Intake Line (02) 6207 9977: This service will be provided by Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre from 17 December 2014 - 5 January 2015.
Opioid Treatment Service:
- Christmas Day - Thursday 25 December 2014: 9am - 1pm
- Boxing Day - Friday 26 December 2014: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
- Saturday 27 December 2014: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
- Sunday 28 December 2014: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
- Monday 29 December 2014: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
- Tuesday 30 December 2014: 7:15am - 12:30pm, 2 - 3pm
- Wednesday 31 December 2014: 7:15am - 12:30pm, 2 - 3pm
- New Year's Day - 1 January 2015: 9am - 1pm
- Friday 2 January 2015: 7:15am - 12:30pm, 2 - 3pm
- Saturday 3 January 2015: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
- Sunday 4 January 2015: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
- Monday 5 January 2015: 7:15 - 9:30am, 10am - 12pm, 1 - 3pm
Withdrawal Unit: Will remain open over the Christmas and New Year period.
Consultation and Liaison: Closed 25 – 28 December 2014 and 1-3 January 2015.
Police and Drug Diversion Service: Closed from 5pm 24 December 2014 and will reopen 2 January 2015.
Counselling and Treatment Services: Closed from 5pm 24 December 2014 and will reopen 2 January 2015.
Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy & The Connection: Closed from 12pm on 24 December 2014 and will reopen 5 January 2015.
Canberra Recovery Services, Salvation Army: Operating throughout the holiday period, however, there will be no admissions between 22 December 2014 and 5 January 2015.
Directions:
Phillip Primary Needle and Syringe Program: Open 24 December 2014 from 9am -1pm. Closed from 25 December 2014 and will reopen on 5 January 2015.
Civic Primary Needle and Syringe Program:
- Monday 29 December 2014: 10am - 2pm
- Tuesday 30 December 2014: 10am - 2pm
- Wednesday 31 December 2014: 10am - 2pm
There will be a counsellor/case manager situated at the NSP on all these days to provide crisis support if required, as well as clients being able to access injecting equipment.
Directions Woden: Closed from 1pm on 24 December 2014 and will reopen Friday 2 January 2015
Arcadia House: Closed from 19 December 2014 and will reopen on 5 January 2015.

Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation: Closed from 5pm 19 December 2014 and will reopen 5 January 2015.
Hepatitis ACT: Closed from 5pm on 24 December 2014 and will reopen 5 January 2015.
Karralika Programs Inc:
Residential Services (Karralika Therapeutic Community Adult Program, Karralika Family Program, Karuna Short-stay Program): Last intakes on Monday 15 December and Tuesday 16 December 2014. New assessments will be taken and admissions to the residential services will restart from 5 January 2015.
Head office: Will close from 2pm on 24 December 2014 and will reopen on Monday 29 December 2014.
Sobering Up Shelter, CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn: Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights 11pm - 11am as usual including Christmas and Boxing Day. Also open from 11pm - 11am Wednesday 31 December 2014. The CatholicCare office shuts down from 2pm on Wednesday 24 December and will reopen 9am Friday 2 January 2015.
Ted Noffs Foundation ACT: Operating throughout the holiday period, however, staff numbers / programs will be reduced (particularly from 24 - 28 December 2014).
Toora Women Inc:
WIREDD: Closed from 5pm 20 December 2014 and will reopen 5 January 2015.
Lesleys Place: Operating as usual throughout the holiday period (except public holidays).
Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Services:
- Closed on public holidays.
- Monday 29 December 2014: 9am - 1pm
- Tuesday 30 December 2014: 9am - 1pm
- Wednesday 31 December 2014: 9am - 1pm
- Friday 2 January 2105: 9am - 1pm
