ATODA 5th Annual General Meeting 2014

Notice:
Notice is hereby given that the Fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Association ACT Inc. (ATODA) will be held at the Australian National University Commons Function Centre, Rimmer St, Canberra on Thursday 27 November 2014 at 9:00am to 9.30am.
 
The AGM will be run in accordance with ATODA’s new Constitution adopted by the membership at a Special General Meeting on 12 June 2014. The new ATODA Constitution states that “in the year of the adoption of this Constitution (this year 2014):

(a)    all Board positions will be declared vacant and will be filled at the next general meeting; 

(b)    the President, the Secretary and two Ordinary Board members shall be elected for a two year term;
 
(c)    the Vice-President, Treasurer and one Ordinary Board member shall be elected for a one year term; and
 
(d)    a nominated member of the ACT ATOD Workers Group will be elected for a one year term.”

Board nomination: Board nominations must be received by ATODA from full organisational members and individual members by 10am Wednesday 12 November 2014. Click here to download a nomination form.


Voting: Members must be full financial members in order to vote at the annual general meeting. 
 

Proxy: :  If you are unable to attend the AGM, we encourage you to complete and return an appointment of proxy form by no later than 5pm Thursday 20 November 2014.  Click here to download the proxy form.

The Canberra Collaboration: Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Research Symposium

The symposium aims to gather ACT based alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) researchers across institutions, services, workers, policy makers and consumers to showcase recent ACT research activities with a focus on ATOD.
 
The symposium will include a workshop on better understanding the use of, and our responses to, crystalline methamphetamines in the ACT. The workshop and networking lunch will provide an opportunity to network, exchange ideas and support future collaborations.
 
This is the third Canberra Collaboration gathering and it will seek to generate further networking and collaboration opportunities (e.g. consultancies, applications for grants, etc.).
