ATOD services end of year shutdown periods
 
This section outlines the end of year shutdown dates for ACT ATOD and related services. The information has been collated through the ACT ATOD Workers Group.

 
ATODA:

The ATODA office will be closed from 24 December 2015 and will reopen 4 January 2015.

 
Alcohol and Drug Services, ACT Health
Phone: (02) 6207 9977

Intake Line (02) 6207 9977: This service will be provided by Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre from 5pm Wednesday 16 December 2015 – 8am Monday 4 January 2016.
 
Opioid Treatment Service:
The cut off dates for transfers is 11 December 2015.
 
Medical Specialist appointments: on 14 – 18 December and 21 – 24 December 2015 a sit and wait clinic will be open with a limited number of appointments available.
 
Walk in clinic will be open on Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 December 2015.

Friday 25 December 2015: 9am – 2pm
Saturday 26 December 2015: 7:15 – 9:30am, 10am – 12pm, 1 – 3pm
Sunday 27 December 2015: 7:15 – 9:30am, 10am – 12pm, 1 – 3pm
Monday 28 December 2015: 7:15 – 9:30am, 10am – 12pm, 1 – 3pm
Tuesday 29 December 2015: 7:15am – 12:30pm, 2 – 3pm
Wednesday 30 December 2015: 7:15am – 12:30pm, 2 – 3pm
Thursday 31 December 2015: 7:15am – 12:30pm, 2 – 3pm
Friday 1 January 2016: 7:15 – 9:30am, 10am – 12pm, 1 – 3pm
Saturday 2 January 2016: 7:15 – 9:30am, 10am – 12pm, 1 – 3pm

Withdrawal Unit: Will remain open over the Christmas and New Year period. Last booked admission on 24 December before 12pm. There will be no booked admissions on 25 – 28 December. Triage will be open on 29 – 31 December 2015.

Saturday 26 December 2015: open from 8:30am – 5pm
Sunday 27 December 2015: open from 8:30am – 5pm
Monday 28 December 2015: open from 8:30am – 5pm

Thursday 31 December 2015: open from 8:30am – 5pm

Police and Drug Diversion Service: Closed from 5pm 24 December 2015 and will reopen Monday 4 January 2016. 
 
Counselling and Treatment Services: Closed from 5pm 24 December 2015 and will reopen Monday 4 January 2016.

Directions at Woden: will be open on 29, 30 and 31 December 2015 from 10am - 2pm. A Drop-in group with morning tea will run on these days from 11am - 12pm.
 
Civic and Woden Primary Needle and Syringe Program will be open on: 

  • Tuesday 29 December 2015: 10am - 2pm
  • Wednesday 30 December 2015: 10am - 2pm
  • Thursday 31 December 2015: 10am - 2pm
The following services will be available:
  • Civic NSP: Providing full range of injecting equipment and crisis support
  • Woden NSP: Providing 4 and 8 packs and crisis support

Directions groups:
  • ADAPT: not running on 25 December 2015, 1 and 8 January 2016.  Recommences on 15 January 2016.
  • Al-Anon: not running on 29 December 2015.  Recommences on 5 January 2016.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous: not running on 24 and 31 December 2015.  Recommences on 7 January 2016.
  • Narcotics Anonymous: not running on 28 December 2015.  Recommences on 4 January 2016.
  • Compass Family Support: not running on 30 December 2015.  Recommences  (on fortnightly basis) on 13 January 2016.
  • Smart Recovery: not running 25, 29, 30 December 2015 and 1 January 2016. Recommences on 5 January 2016.

 
*Please note that Arcadia House last admission will be on 18 December 2015. The service will be closed from 1pm 24 December 2015 and will re-open on Monday 4 January 2016

Residential Services (Karralika Therapeutic Community Adult Program, Karralika Family Program, Karuna Short-stay Program): Last intakes on Tuesday 15 December 2015. New assessments will be taken and admissions to the residential services will restart from 4 January 2016.

All programs will continue to operate, with only the Solaris Therapeutic Program being closed for a short period of time.

Street University Program:
The program will be closed on 25, 26 and 31 December 2015. Opening hours for other days will depend on staff availability and opening hours will be displayed on the front door.
