ACT ATOD Services Shutdown Periods

and Crisis Service Information:

December 2016 - January 2017



 


This section outlines the end of year shutdown dates for ACT ATOD and related services. The information has been collated through the ACT ATOD Workers Group.

 
ATODA

The ATODA office will be closed from 4pm Friday 23 December 2015 and will reopen Tuesday 3 January 2016.

 
Alcohol and Drug Services, ACT Health

Intake Line
This service will be provided by Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre from the evening of 23 December 2016 – to the morning of 3 January 2017.
 
Opioid Treatment Services
The cut-off date for applications for takeaways is 12 December 2016.
The cut-off date for applications for outgoing transfers is 19 December 2016.
The cut off dates for incoming transfers is 23 December 2016.
Medical specialist appointments will be limited during the holiday period (with limited sit and wait appointments available on 29 and 30 December 2016).

Withdrawal Unit
Will remain open over the Christmas and New Year period. Last booked admission on 23 December 2016. Triage and admissions will be open on 29 – 30 December 2016 and will return to normal business from Tuesday 3 January 2017.
 
Counselling and Treatment Service
Closed from afternoon of Friday 23 December 2016 and will reopen 3 January 2017.
 
Consultation and Liaison
Staff will be available from 8.30am – 5pm throughout the holiday period (with limited capacity for ward rounds on some days)
 
Police and Court Drug Diversion Service
Closed from afternoon of Friday 23 December 2016 and will reopen Tuesday 3 January 2017.

During this period walk-in support, over-the-phone support and daily groups will be running at 11am. All groups will enable an opportunity for check-in and support.
 
Woden NSP is not operating, however Woden head office will be supplying 4 and 8 packs.

Residential Services (Karralika Therapeutic Community Adult Program, Karralika Family Program, Karuna Short-stay Program): Last intakes on Tuesday 13 December 2016.
 
New assessments will be taken and admissions to the residential services will recommence Tuesday 3 January 2017.
 
All programs will continue to operate, with only the Solaris Therapeutic Program being closed for a short period of time between Christmas and New Year.
