A record crowd descended on the Stonards Hill recreation ground for the Epping Town Show last Sunday.
The event was opened by Epping Town Mayor Cllr Tony Church who, with his partner Hilary and Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex Michael Chapman, arrived at the arena in the Copped Hall Rolls Royce.
Town Mayor Cllr Tony Church said: "It was wonderful to see so many people turn out on such a splendid day of sunshine.
"Thank you to everyone who took part but especially our volunteers and staff who organised it and helped on the day.
"A special thanks to Mullucks Wells and Tesco Epping for their individual support. Epping Town Council has organised the Town Show for many years.
"The event had to be cancelled last year because of bad weather but this year certainly made up for it with what must have been a record attendance."
More than 60 stalls were manned by local businesses and community groups with arena entertainment featuring performances by the Essex ACF Corps of Drums, the Epping Forest Band, Illusions Dance Academy, Epping Folk Club’s Noel Cowley, Academy Arts, Wills Way, Etcetera Morris Men, First Class Falconry, The Blackwater Jazz Band and Te-Ashi- Do Karate Club.
In addition to various sideshows, and circus skills workshops, there was a display of artwork in the Jack Silley Pavilion where tea and homemade cakes were sold by members of St John's Church to raise money for the Heart of Epping appeal.
