Council planning Jack Silley Pavilion refurbishment
Epping Town Council is planning to refurbish the Jack Silley Pavilion at Stonards Hill Recreation Ground and hopefully add a café.
The recreation ground was gifted to the people of Epping through the town council from the Silley family, hence the pavilion’s name.
Stonards Hill Recreation Ground is very widely used by football teams, dog walkers, exercisers, visitors to the playground, the scouts and many have requested a café.
Epping Town Council has been earmarked a sum of money through the planning system relating to the building of Epping St John’s and this money will be used in addition to funds from Epping Town Council and hopefully additional grants.
There will also be improvements to the pavilion itself which needs a better roof.
Plans are now available to view through Epping Forest District Council and it will be advertised when work starts, hopefully in Spring 2018.
