Ongar Town Council play areas receive three awards from
Essex Playing Fields Association

Ongar Town Council has received three awards from the Essex Playing Fields Association.

Open Spaces committee chairman councillor Alison Wingfield was presented with two Gold awards in the Best Kept Play Area category at the association's Annual General Meeting held at the Essex County Cricket Ground, Chelmsford, on Thursday (October 15).

The awards were for the Cerizay play area behind Chipping Ongar Library in the High Street, and Shelley play area at St Peter’s Avenue.

In addition, the council was a runner-up for the Love Lane play area at Jubilee Field, Love Lane.

Mrs Wingfield said: “The town council is thrilled to receive these awards.

"The recognition of the council’s efforts to provide good quality play areas for children to enjoy is a welcome acknowledgement of the work councillors and staff have put into maintaining its facilities."
