Town council gives input into Green Belt review
Like other councils, Epping Town Council were invited to input into the Green Belt Stage 2 Review at an open meeting on Thursday, March 3.
Members of Epping Town Council joined with resident stakeholders from the Neighbourhood Planning Advisory Committee to impart their local knowledge into the assessment of Green Belt parcels of land.
Attendees analysed the Green Belt parcels of land in minute detail and comments, based on their detailed knowledge of the area, were sent to Epping Forest District Council on Monday.
Town Clerk Beverley Rumsey said: "The Green Belt Review Stage 2 is a key part of Epping Forest District Council’s Local Plan and crucial to the protection of the Green Belt land around Epping moving forward.
"The members of Epping Town Council and the Neighbourhood Planning Advisory Committee live in, and love, Epping and have a detailed knowledge of the area.
"Epping Forest District Council consultants will look at the figures behind these parcels of land, Epping Town Council will look at the reality; such as where people walk their dogs and enjoy the openness Green Belt policy seeks to protect.
"Epping Town Council were delighted to be part of this exercise and will continue to enjoy the strong relationship we have with Epping Forest District Council as we move towards the Neighbourhood Plan for Epping."
