The Boswells School host Wales school for rugby and netball matches

The Boswells School hosted netball and rugby matches against teams from Treorchy Comprehensive School, Wales.

The matches were the latest encounters involving the two schools which started after former Boswells PE teacher Kojo Hazel returned to his homeland to take up a post at Treorchy.

The Boswells boys overcame their Welsh opponents 29-5 on the rugby field while the Boswells girls were unbeaten in a round robin competition.

PE teacher and Head of Year 10 Darren Page said: “It was really good to have our Welsh visitors over for the return fixtures from last year. It is a link that both schools are looking to maintain following us taking our Year 9s there in January so we again can host Treorchy School next January.

"Residential opportunities within school can play a real part in the student’s social and
cultural development especially when they travel and get to see and experience a different country.

All the students involved were a credit to both schools and we look forward to continuing the links between both schools."
