Ongar Town Council holding second litter pick of the year

Ongar Town Council is holding its second litter pick of the year on Saturday, November 14.

Volunteers should meet at the Jubilee Park car park, Love Lane, Ongar - where there is free parking - at 9.30am for a 10am start.

Efforts will concentrate on the northern end of the town.

Litter pickers, gloves and high viz jackets will be provided but volunteers are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Refreshments for volunteers will be provided after the event, at about noon, in the Jubilee Pavilion.

Open Spaces Committee chairman councillor Alison Wingfield said: “The town council would like to encourage residents to be more responsible for their own rubbish and not to rely on other people to pick up their litter.

"We would welcome as many people as possible to join us to clean up our streets as working together like this creates a sense of community."
