New parish councillor
North Weald Bassett Parish Council has co-opted Sheila Jackman onto the council to represent the North Weald Village ward.

Mrs Jackman, who is also serving a third term as an Ongar town councillor, was co-opted at Monday’s meeting.

She said: “Having attended many North Weald Parish Council meetings I am aware of the excellent manner in which the council conducts parish affairs and I am delighted to join the council.”

Council chairman councillor Cyril Hawkins said: "We have had a vacancy since the elections in May, and have published the vacancy in Village Life and also on our noticeboards to no avail, so we are very pleased to have someone with Sheila’s wealth of experience being co-opted. She will be an asset to this council."
