Town council receives three Essex Playing Fields Association awards
Ongar Town Council has received three awards from the Essex Playing Fields Association at its Annual General Meeting held at the Essex County Cricket Ground, Chelmsford, on Thursday (October 13).

Town clerk Aimi Middlehurst was presented with a Gold award in the Best Kept Play Area category for the Cerizay play area behind Chipping Ongar Library in the High Street. 

A Gold award was also received in the Best Kept Football Pitch category for Love Lane while the Shelley play area at St Peter’s Avenue received a silver award.

Open Spaces Committee chairman councillor Derek Birch said: “The town council is thrilled to receive these awards.

"The open spaces staff work tirelessly to maintain the play areas and sports pitches for all to enjoy and these awards are testament for all their hard work."
