A Roding Valley High School team will take on seven other teams from local schools at the Epping Forest Parliamentary Debating Competition on Friday, November 13.

The competition is held annually by Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing.

This year’s Motion is “This House believes that it would be in Britain’s best interests to remain within the European Union”.

The Roding Valley team of Year 11 students Doncha Atanassov and Matthew Tinker will be speaking against the motion.

Farai Punungwe, Deputy Head of the Science Faculty and the school's Challenge and Enrichment Co-ordinator, said: "This is a very relevant and current political issue challenging perception, developing debating skills and analysis of complex political and fiscal ideology."
