West Hatch High School has not only seen its best ever A-Level results, significantly above the national average, but has also had a five per cent increase on its combined English and Maths GCSE results.
This figure now stands at 74 per cent - the school's best ever result, with 62 per cent the national average last year.
Frances Howarth, who is retiring as headteacher this summer, is delighted for the students and staff who have worked so hard to achieve such success.
She said: "I couldn’t be happier with what our students have achieved. They were a delightful year group. We are extremely proud of them in particular those students who found their work hard yet overcame their difficulties achieving very good results too."
Top performing students include:
Gold Luntadila and Yasmin Sachdev - two Grade 9s, one Grade 8, five A*s and two As.
Hannah Purton - two Grade 9s, one Grade 7, six A*s and one A.
Luke Drummond-Poynter - two Grade 9s, one Grade 8, two A*s, four As and one B.
Amelia Skipper - two Grade 9s, one Grade 7, two A*s, three As and two Bs.
Eric Chen - one Grade 9, two Grade 8s, six A*s, one A and one B.
James Earl - one Grade 9, two Grade 8s, four A*s and three As.
Mrs Howarth added: "Just under a third of the year group secured ten or more higher level passes.
"Over half attained eight or more with three quarters achieving five or more higher level passes. Many of our students will now be able to progress to Sixth Form study at West Hatch."
She added: "Not only will they commence their A-Levels and vocational courses but they will also have the opportunity to undertake work placements, shadowing, internships, the Extended Project qualification, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme and the Global Young Leaders Programme.
"They will also have the chance to trek and travel to remote corners of the globe with Camps International, all resulting in them leaving us with the confidence, skills and excellent results enabling them to compete with the best."
Details on courses open for recruitment from September will be available on Friday, September 1. Ring the school on 020 8504 8216 for details.
The school's Sixth Form evening for next year is on Wednesday, November 8.
