Town council introduces drone ban at Stonards Hill recreation ground

The flying of drones on the Stonards Hill recreation ground in Epping is to be banned by Epping Town Council.

The town council is to amend its current signage highlighting the new rule rather than, for the time being at least, seeking to introduce a bylaw on the recreation ground.

Councillor Hugh Pegrum told Tuesday's town council meeting: "It is an accident waiting to happen. We have football, kids running around there and it doesn't seem a very suitable place to be flying drones.

"If you were there doing a risk assessment you wouldn't say it was a sensible thing to be doing on a public play area."
