Council increases cost of Christmas market stalls
Epping Town Council is to increase the cost of stalls at its Christmas Market.
Stalls for traders are to rise £10 to £45 while community groups and charities face a £5 increase, to £35.
Town councillors have been told that just over half of the £7,000 budget is currently spent on market stall-related expenditure.
Tuesday's meeting heard the market is always oversubscribe with 61 stalls at last year's event compared to 47 in 2017.
However the revenue from the 2018 market was not enough to break even with the cost of putting up and dismantling the stalls and the lighting provided for stallholders.
