Crowd turns out to help celebrate Queen's 90th birthday

More than 100 people turned out to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday with the lighting
of a beacon in Epping.

The Epping Town Council-organised event saw the beacon lit by the council's very experienced Town Supervisor Bill Towers who had hand-made the beacon for a previous celebration.

Town Mayor Michael Wright read a special message from Prince Charles before the lighting took place at the Frampton Road recreation ground last night (Thursday).

After the lighting, music was provided by Celebration Duo.Refreshments were also available.

Mayor Michael Wright said: "It was a lovely evening and a special way for the town to help celebrate the Queen's 90 glorious years."
