New patio for Jubilee Pavilion

A new patio has been installed at Jubilee Park, Ongar, with grant funding from Essex County Council's Community Initiatives Fund.

The work, at the front of the Jubilee Pavilion, is the latest improvement work to be carried out at the Love Lane facilities by Ongar Town Council.

Councillor Alison Wingfield, chairman of the Jubilee Park and Open Spaces Committee, said: "This is a welcome addition to the Jubilee Park facilities. It provides a space for families to enjoy refreshments in the fresh air overlooking the playing fields.

"The patio is the latest improvement at Jubilee Park which includes the refurbishment of the kitchen, improvements to the men’s toilets and better care of the cricket square.

"Most of the improvements made to the pavilion and fields have been achieved with grant funding to minimise any expense to local ratepayers.

"In the next few weeks the council hopes to be able to provide toddler play equipment, again with grant funding, and to refurbish the picnic benches.”
