CareersFest - an "amazing" event
Following the first-ever virtual CareersFest, 2022 saw the return of the face-to-face CareersFest at New City College's Epping Forest campus.
The CareersFest gave students and parents/carers from secondary schools across Epping Forest the opportunity to meet exhibitors including The Hill Group - which sponsored the event - Army Careers London, Ryanair, Border Force, Essex Police, Haslers accountants, Higgins Partnership, Investment 2020, Kier, KPMG, Ministry of Defence, Royal Navy, Sales Force Technology, Site Sales, Teledyne E2V, OMD Media and Cohen Davies.
The CareersFest is organised by the Careers Consortium (West Hatch High School, Davenant Foundation School, Debden Park High School, Epping St John's School, King Harold Academy and Roding Valley High School) and New City College.
Geoffrey Towsey, one of the event organisers and careers advisor at West Hatch High School, said: “The CareersFest is always an amazing event but this year was particularly special.
"After the lockdown and various restrictions it was so nice to be able to meet exhibitors, young people and parents/carers in the flesh again.
"The turnout was amazing."
He added: "The CareersFest is an excellent opportunity for students to speak to employers, training providers, colleges and universities.
"On behalf of The Careers Consortium we would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to all the exhibitors who attended.
"We would also like to give a special mention to The Hill Group, which sponsored the event. Without their generous support the event would not be possible.”
Although the 2022 CareersFest has finished, The Careers Consortium will soon turn its thoughts to the 2023 event.
