EVENT|swissnex China @ CIIE: The Country that Never Stops Innovating
November 5-10 | National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a major initiative of the Chinese government to promote trade liberalization, economic globalization and open the market to the world. Since 2010 China has been Switzerland's most important trading partner in Asia. swissnex China will be joining the Swiss National Pavilion, organized by Swiss Business Hub and the Embassy of Switzerland in China, to showcase the Swiss excellence in innovation which contributes towards the robust commercial relationship between the two countries. EVENT|Roundtable: Sino-Swiss Free Trade Agreement
November 13 | swissnex China Conference Room, Shanghai

The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between Switzerland and China in 2013 is among the most ambitious trade deals signed by both countries to date. During the state visit to Switzerland of President Xi Jinping in 2017, both governments have agreed to upgrade the FTA agreement. This Roundtable, organized by SwissCham in cooperation with the Swiss Center Shanghai and to be held at swissnex China, will discuss the key findings from the Sino-Swiss Free Trade Agreement - 2018 Academic Evaluation Report published by the University of St. Gallen (HSG). RECAP|Venture Leaders 2018: A Resounding Success!
September 10-21 | HK, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing & WEF

Venture Leaders China program was launched to offer a platform for a selection of 10 disruptive startups from Switzerland to connect with China over a 10-day roadshow across 5 cities: Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin. The trip included business workshops, investor meetings and public events. A few weeks ago, the 5th consecutive edition of Venture Leaders China 2018 ended after 10 days full of learnings, memorable experiences, and, most importantly, valuable contacts from various industry professionals of the local startup ecosystem and multi-billion-dollar investors.  Learn more  ➠

RECAP|Swiss French-Speaking Alumni Event
August 17 | Confucius Institute UNIGE, Geneva

The Swiss-Chinese Association, the Chinese Embassy in Bern, swissnex China, the Department of East Asian studies and the alumni association at the University of Geneva hosted the fourth meeting of the Swiss French-speaking alumni in China in Geneva. More than 30 alumni participated in this event to discuss their memories of China and share their experiences of the present day.   Learn more  ➠

RECAP|MORE THAN BAGS with FREITAG Brothers

The Swiss brand FREITAG has found its way to China and become a must-have for many designers and artists. On September 24, the FREITAG Brothers held a Campus Talk co-organized by swissnex China at the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University NoCC with more than 200 students and young professionals and a live-stream counting more than 800 views.   Learn more  ➠

RECAP|Sino-Swiss Higher Vocational Education Forum

swissnex China co-organized the event with SORSA – Swiss Chapter. The event saw an active participation of Swiss alumni, including Madame WU Qidi, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China, as well as institutions and companies in the vocational education industry.  Dr. Felix Moesner, gave an insightful presentation on the higher vocational education system in Switzerland.   Learn more  ➠

WELCOME!|Victor Dietrich
New Junior Project Manager
Victor is a Swiss citizen born in 1993 and grew up in the small village of Sergey, Vaud. Victor did his bachelor studies at HEC Lausanne in economics and business, graduating in 2017 following a one-year exchange at the University of Queensland (UQ). He then pursued his studies with a Master degree in Information Systems at HEC Lausanne. Victor has always been strongly implicated in extracurricular projects in parallel to his studies such as with the Institute for Value-Based Entrepreneurship, AIESEC, the CHIC program and as the representative student of the MScIS. As a tech and sports enthusiast, he plays American football and enjoys judo, skiing and hiking.
