venture leaders China, we have your back!

Collaborated between venturelab and swissnex China, ten selected Swiss-made tech startups finished a ten-day intensive journey to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen this October. In total, eleven events including evening reception, pitching competition, expert coaching and investment meetings were organized. For most of the venture leaders, it’s not only a wonderful study tour as their first time to China, to the Far East , but also a unique opportunity to get first-hand experience and to learn about the Chinese market by interacting with the local business community face to face. All Swiss Schools and Universities Alumni Gathering

Networking and Swiss innovation were the cornerstones of this year’s All Swiss Schools and Universities Alumni Gathering in Shanghai. It was not a big surprise to see more than 200 guests filled up the venue and if you assemble Swiss alumni – usually a guarantee for extraordinary personal experiences and stories – in Shanghai, the place where networking and socializing are the central features of everyday life – a bustling night is on the schedule. Hey, welcome on board!
 
Having a bachelor of science in management, Loris joined the team for a six months internship in collaboration with HEC Lausanne. As a Junior Project Leader, he is supporting projects related to higher education and innovation. He is also representing his faculty in alumni events, acting as the HEC Lausanne ambassador in Shanghai. 

After having obtained her bachelor degree at the University of Bern and spending one year in Shanghai to learn Chinese, Sina is back to China as an exchange student from IHEID Geneva at Fudan University. With her focus on international affairs she joined our team in September for five months and will organize and implement various events related to higher education and innovation and thus help deepen the Sino-Swiss relationship.

Studying in Shanghai International Studies University with a major in Translation Studies, Jingyan Yang joined the team for a six months internship. As an Academic Junior Project Leader, she is helping in projects  to strengthen the connection between higher education and research in China and Switzerland, as well as to coordinate various academic events.
