To celebrate the Francophonie month of March, our next Café des Sciences Lecture will be a special edition co-organized with other French speaking countries and regions. Scientists and Start-ups from Belgium, Canada, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland are invited to present their research and pitch their projects. Creative design, sustainable energy, botanical science and various other topics will be discovered and explored through the lecture. Attendees will also have a chance to interact with the speakers and enjoy the networking apéro.

RECAP|Café des Sciences: Discover Swiss Collision-resistant Drones for Inaccessible Places
February 21 | swissnex China

On February 21, swissnex China held its monthly Café des Sciences event with Xiaolin Briod-Wang, General Manager of Greater China at the Swiss startup & EPFL spin-off Flyability on their ELIOS drone, the world’s first collision-tolerant Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. 50 registered guests including scientists, investors and experts from local drone industry joined the event. SenseTime focuses on computer vision and deep learning and is valued US$6 billion. New Project Coordinator Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Simin is a graduate of Management & Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy in Audencia Business School, France. She is a Kickstart Accelerator 2016 (Switzerland) alumna with the 1st prize in Fintech. Simin is passionate about innovation, technology and creative fields with 4 years' working and study experiences.  She has solid marketing, operational and projects management skills. She also helped  Swiss companies and startups to analyze and understand the Chinese market during her stay in Switzerland. She loves collecting music, swimming and exploring the great nature.

New Junior Manager PR & Communications

Yingzhen (Christy) gained her bachelor’s degree of arts in International Journalism at Hong Kong Baptist University. During her studies, she took part in an exchange program in Marketing Management at the IÉSEG School of Management in France. Yingzhen gained solid academic knowledge and extensive experience in digital media & Chinese Internet industry. After her graduation, she worked at Caixin Media, IQIYI, Tencent respectively in the fields of content marketing and advertisement project management. Her mother tongues are Mandarin and Cantonese, she can also speak English and some French.

  • FAREWELL TO AMBASSADOR DE DARDEL  We say our fond farewell to Dr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, Switzerland’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Mongolia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). Taking office in March 2014, Ambassador de Dardel led the Embassy of Switzerland in China, Switzerland’s largest Embassy in the world, and oversaw four consulates general and two cooperation offices. He presided over a series of milestones in the bilateral relations between Switzerland and China, Mongolia and the DPRK. Ambassador de Dardel will be succeeded by Ambassador Bernardino Regazzoni on 11 March.
