Finding love, the law, and the limelight at BC Law
Jim and Maura O'Connell O'Donnell
We knew the chance of an "O'Connell" and an "O'Donnell" being in our BC Law class in the 1970s was pretty good, and the chance they would actually bump into each other was even better since their photos were right next to each other in our first-year Facebook.
Perhaps more difficult to predict was that the O'Connell and the O'Donnell would fall in love and marry, particularly given their disparate backgrounds as described in their bios that appeared in the playbill for our 1978 blockbuster Law Revue, Draculaw.

Hard to believe that Maura and Jim's lives after BC Law have included more love, more law, and yes, a little bit more of the limelight. Read Maura and Jim's journey.

Be in our reunion class book
BC Law is celebrating our 40th Reunion with a special class book for us!
Only three reunion classes will receive a class book, and our class is one of them! The class book has been well received by prior reunion classes and is a great way for us to reconnect and stay in touch.
The only way to be in the book is to submit a profile and photos. Don't miss out!
Here's a peek at a few of last year's BC Law 40th reunion book profiles for inspiration:

In Memoriam
Larry Adelman
Our classmate, Larry Adelman, died of cancer on January 24, 1978, months before our graduation. He was 26 years old. In the short time that we knew Larry, he touched many of our lives with his strong—yet gentle—character. A few weeks after Larry's passing, our classmate, Bob Quinn, put down in words what we, who knew Larry, were feeling.
In honor of Larry's memory, The Lawrence A. Adelman, JD '78 Endowed Scholarship Fund at BC Law was established this year by several members of our class. This gift will endow a scholarship for a Public Service Scholar at BC Law. You can read more about the worthy Public Service Scholars program in our most recent BC Law Magazine. This touching effort is a perfect way to mark the occasion of our 40th Reunion and continue the good work in service to others that Larry certainly would have done, had he been given the chance to do so. If you would like to make a contribution to the Adelman Fund, please contact Christine Kelly at kellychr@bc.edu. All contributions to the fund will count toward our class reunion gift.
Here is Bob's heartfelt tribute to Larry. |

Professor Spotlight
Professor Bob Bloom
In the late 1960s, then student Bob Bloom entered BC Law on a mission to earn a law degree so that he could help the underrepresented. Bob was able to pursue his mission by participating in BC Law's then innovative clinical program, Legal Assistance Bureau.
A half-century later, it comes as no surprise to us that Bob has spent almost his entire career at BC Law promoting social justice by teaching courses and supervising students in BC Law's ever-expanding experiential learning programs. Read more about Bob.

This year our amazing law school community raised $1.73 million for the Law School Fund, exceeding the amount raised last fiscal year! Thanks to the generosity of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends, this money will provide much needed support for financial aid, public service stipends, faculty research grants, and more.
