I have to admit, when I just saw that I've been out of touch now for over two months, I felt a little surprised. This summer is flying by. But that's not all; the truth is I've been thinking of you, of everyone who receives my newsletters, and one thing I've been thinking is: "What will they think when my book comes out? Or even when I tell them what it's about?"

Now that I have some perspective, those sound like harmless questions. They sound like they could even be asked in an excited way, right? But they were rumbling around in my head with a more fearful tone. And for a while, my fears were both blocking me from moving forward with my editing process and from reaching out to share with you.

But now I'm ready, at least for a partial reveal, a little teaser so to speak. What's been consuming my attention for the past 5 months? What have I been working on in that  Get Your Book Done program? I've been writing a book for women about how harnessing your sexual energy and awakening your senses can lead to a healthier, happier, sexier you. It's a sort of "diet" book that doesn't focus on food, but rather on living a sensual life full of self-love and pleasure. And when I put it like that, it sounds good, right? So what the heck was I so afraid of?

Some people say it's best not to share too much about your dreams and creative projects in the early phases of creation; the creative process can be a sensitive one. And since sex and sexuality are edgy topics for many people, I was concerned about the reactions some of you might have, and how that would affect me; I'm a sensitive one. The thing is, I'm also a strong one, and part of the whole inspiration for writing this book is to do away with shame and taboo and to instead empower people to explore and embrace sexuality and pleasure as an important part of life.

And if that's the message I'm promoting, if that's part of my purpose and mission, then I can't be afraid-- or at least not let the fears stop me. Feeling fear is human. Having doubts is human. The inner critic and inner saboteur love to wreak havoc. But just like I help my clients and students, I help myself by facing these fears and by telling that inner critic and saboteur to take a hike.
And that's what brought me to this moment and this decision to share all of this with you.

So there you have it. That's it for now. And I invite you this week to take a little assessment of where you might be holding back out of fear. Is there something you need to admit to, whether just to yourself or also to others? Where have you been hiding, and are you ready to come out? There's great power in being witnessed, in being heard and seen in your human vulnerability and authenticity, by others. Choose wisely, both the people and the timing, and remember the liberation that's waiting for you on the other side. If you need some support in stepping more fully into your full potential, I'm here for you. Just ask.
